Swedish melodic death metal pioneers deliver emotional tribute to late frontman Tomas Lindberg via Century Media Records
Swedish melodic death metal pioneers ‘At The Gates‘ have released their new studio album “The Ghost of a Future Dead” worldwide via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2021’s “The Nightmare of Being,” this album marks a special tribute to frontman Tomas Lindberg, who tragically passed away in September 2025.
Worldwide media has been praising the release with positive reviews, with the album named “album of the month” in numerous outlets including Metal Hammer (Germany), Rock Hard (Germany), Deaf Forever (Germany), Metal.de (Germany), Sweden Rock (Sweden), Metallian (France), and Rock Hard (France). Additionally, the album achieved Soundcheck number one positions across multiple major publications.
Kerrang! awarded the album a 5/5 review, stating:

To mark the album’s release, ‘At The Gates’ have unveiled a new video for “In Dark Distortion,” created by longtime collaborator Costin Chioreanu of Twilight13 Media. The video serves as the next preview of a massive conceptual project featuring painting, filming, editing and production by Chioreanu for a visual storyline that enhances the entire “The Ghost of a Future Dead” album, which will be launched in full to expand the album’s release sometime soon.
