Couple separates amid difficult period following Ozzy Osbourne’s death, source confirms to Daily Mail
Kelly Osbourne has reportedly ended her engagement to ‘Slipknot‘ turntablist Sid Wilson, bringing their relationship to a close months after the pair publicly announced plans to marry. The reported breakup comes as Osbourne continues to navigate a period of family grief following the death of her father, ‘Black Sabbath‘ icon Ozzy Osbourne.
An anonymous source told Daily Mail the engagement ended during what was described as an “incredibly difficult” time for Osbourne as she deals with her father’s passing, with the source claiming the two decided separating was “the best path forward.”
“They tried to make it work, particularly for the sake of their child, but ultimately decided that separating is the best path forward,” the source stated. “Kelly has endured a great deal over the past year. Despite everything, she remains sober and is now focusing on herself and her role as a mother moving ahead.”
The source added: “In truth, she and Sid have been facing challenges in their relationship for some time, and things were not as they appeared.”
Osbourne is 41 and Wilson is 49, and they share a three-year-old son named Sidney. The engagement was revealed last summer when Wilson proposed backstage at Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert with ‘Black Sabbath’, “Back to the Beginning,” capping a long personal history between the two that reportedly stretches back decades to when ‘Slipknot’ toured Ozzfest, the festival founded by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.
The proposal, which took place in front of the Prince of Darkness himself and the rest of the Osbourne family, was one of the most talked-about moments surrounding the historic concert that marked the end of Ozzy Osbourne’s career and served as the final performance of ‘Black Sabbath’s’ original lineup. Seven months later, news of the broken engagement has surprised fans and media alike.
According to the source, Osbourne and Wilson have maintained a friendship that evolved into a romantic relationship over nearly 30 years, dating back to ‘Slipknot’s’ early involvement with Ozzfest. Despite the reported split, sources speaking to TMZ suggest the relationship between the couple has always had its ups and downs, and a reconciliation is not entirely ruled out given their long history together.
Neither Osbourne nor Wilson has publicly commented on the reported split, and it remains unclear what the immediate co-parenting arrangements will look like for their young son.
In recent months, Osbourne has been increasingly visible in public conversations around family and personal wellbeing, including breaking down in tears during a tribute to her father, underscoring how closely her private life has been tied to Ozzy’s legacy and the intense period of mourning she continues to navigate.
