‘Karnivool’ Release New Single “Animation” and Announce Acoustic Album Launch Parties

Perth progressive rock icons ‘Karnivool‘ are just days away from releasing In Verses, their eagerly awaited fourth studio album arriving February 6 via Cymatic Records / Sony Music. The band has dropped their latest single “Animation” alongside news of intimate acoustic launch parties across Australia during release week – a format they haven’t attempted before on home soil.

One of the first songs to come together during the album sessions, “Animation” emerged while the band was deep in work on “All It Takes”. The track showcases ‘Karnivool‘ exploring new territory within their rhythm section, building wide open verses that explode into fuzzed-out choruses driven by unbridled rhythmic intensity and groove. It stands as one of the album’s defining moments.

“Animation leans into new space found within the rhythm section. It holds the pulse of In Verses – tight, detailed, tense, It reflects the frustration, the renewal, and the search for light that runs through the record, all while staying true to our sound.”

To celebrate In Verses’ arrival, ‘Karnivool’ will hold acoustic launch parties in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth throughout February. The band will perform short acoustic sets featuring new material and old favorites, chat with fans, and sign records and exclusive merchandise for those who’ve waited over a decade for this album. The last time they played acoustic was 14 years ago in Mumbai. Tickets go on sale January 28 and won’t last long.

Born from relentless experimentation in their Perth studio with longtime collaborator Forrester Savell, the road to ‘Karnivool”s fourth record has been anything but straightforward – much like the music they create. In Verses represents a culmination of the last decade’s life experiences, meticulously formed and delivered across ten tracks that journey through collective feelings of frustration, catharsis, and a rediscovery of identity.

Over the past 20 years, ‘Karnivool’ have cemented their status as one of Australia’s most influential hard rock bands. Their unique approach to heavy and progressive music has delivered three acclaimed, platinum-certified records: Themata (2005), the groundbreaking Sound Awake (2009), and ARIA award-winning #1 album Asymmetry (2013). As one of progressive music’s most vital global forces, they’ve spent the intervening years expanding their fanbase from Melbourne to Moscow, Sofia to Sydney, Pune to Perth. Career highlights include a sold-out 3,000-capacity show at London’s Roundhouse, gigs across South Africa, India and Dubai, and appearances at Download and Hellfest.

For longtime fans, In Verses offers a fitting reintroduction. For newcomers, the album marks a striking gateway into a body of work built on intense love for the craft.

‘Karnivool’ tour Europe in April and May 2026 following the album’s release.
